We can't put a price tag on Education
Laurel Mountain's district budget breaks down to less than $100 per child per year. When you break down the budget for the SEM program which provides each and every child at LME with unique, enhanced learning opportunities, it costs an additional $10-$15 per month per child. The monies raised for the SEM campaign fund a full-time Enrichment Specialist, Renzulli Learning System annual site license, on-going staff development, and resource materials, such as technology equipment, consumable supplies, and fi eld trips. Compared to what our children's activities typically cost, $10 per month for a cutting-edge program proven to provide children with the confi dence in their abilities and interests to be successful in their futures is a bargain.
2009-2010 Excellence Fund Campaign Goals and Funding Priorities
Only with the support of our parents and community can we make the SEM educational experience a reality. Last year 70% of our LME families financially supported the SEM Excellence Fund. This year our goal is 100% participation, and we hope to raise the $75,000 required to keep the program going at Laurel Mountain.
We hope you will make a contribution to the LME Excellence Fund and understand just how lucky we are to have our children at Laurel Mountain Elementary, an excellent school dedicated to Keeping Our Children A Step Ahead.
