Philanthropy Resources
- GenerationOn. GenerationOn's mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize youth to take action that changes the world and themselves through service.
- RandomKid. This website provides kids with everything they need to support their efforts to help others.
- Kids Care Clubs: These started in 1990 with the purpose of developing a spirit of volunteerism in elementary and middle school children. The clubs are led by an adult facilitator and implement hands-on service projects. Once you are registered as a Kids Club, you are provided with lists of service-oriented projects, compassion and issue education information and are eligible to receive mini-grants.
- GenerationOn -- their mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize youth to take action that changes the world and themselves through service. There is a section for teachers that contains lesson plans, training opportunities and other resources. (GenerationOn is the youth division of the Points of Light Institute.)
- Learning to Give is also connected with the Points of Light Institute, but has somewhat different resources for teachers than GenerationOn has.
- RandomKids has a section devoted to resources for educators teaching service learning. The site includes suggestions for projects, idea starters, lesson plans and other resources.
- EPA Environmental Education is a great resource of free curricula and activities on a variety of environmental topics, ideas for student community service projects and listings of events by area, grant information, and other links.
- There are numerous service-learning resources for educators on the National Service-Learning Clearinghouse
